Grooved Acoustic Panel Series for Walls and Ceilings
Rooms with extensive hard surfaces often suffer from long reverberation, blurred speech, and uncomfortable sound build-up. LEEYIN Grooved Acoustic Panel systems combine architectural lining and sound treatment in one modular product family. Each panel uses longitudinal face grooves and rear perforations to create a sound path into the backing layer and supporting cavity, where acoustic infill can further absorb reflected energy.
How the Grooved Acoustic Panel Construction Works
The visible grooves establish a consistent linear rhythm across walls or ceilings. Behind the face, round perforations and an acoustic backing help sound enter the panel assembly while screening the cavity from view. Backing options listed in the TDS include nonwoven fabric, fiberglass paper, and Soundtex in black or white, with typical thicknesses of 0.2–0.3 mm and weights of 50 or 80 g/m².
Six groove geometries are available: 5-3, 6-2, 13-3, 14-2, 28-4, and 60-4. Published test data reports NRC 0.85 for 6-2, NRC 0.75 for 13-3 and 14-2, and NRC 0.60 for 28-4.
These figures apply to the tested products and assemblies identified in the technical data. The selected backing, cavity, acoustic infill, substrate, and mounting method should therefore be confirmed before a project value is specified.
The absorption measurements reference GB/T 20247-2006 and ISO 354:2003.
Multiple Cores for Different Project Priorities
The series covers warm natural wood constructions as well as inorganic core options for projects with more demanding fire or emissions criteria.
Multilayer and solid wood variants provide a genuine wood-based material direction. Environmental MDF offers a stable decorative substrate, while fire-retardant MDF is listed with B1 (B-s1,d0) under GB 8624 and C-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1.
The ceramic-aluminum product family uses a glass-magnesium core. Glass-magnesium, rock-gold, and silicon-mineral variants are listed as A2-s1,d0 under the Chinese fire classification in the supplied TDS.
Fire ratings are substrate-specific and must not be applied to a different core without the corresponding test report.
The TDS identifies formaldehyde-emission options from E1 to ENF:
- Environmental MDF: E1/E0 configurations
- Fire-retardant MDF: E1
- Glass-magnesium: E1/E0/ENF configurations
- Rock-gold core: ENF
- Silicon-mineral core: ENF
These grades reference GB/T 39600-2021. Exact compliance must be matched to the ordered substrate and current test report.

For wall installation, the technical drawings show panels fixed to timber battens or light-steel framing with an acoustic cavity and optional glass-wool or acoustic-wool infill.
The supplied nail-fixed diagram shows:
- 12 mm timber battens
- Gun-nail fixing
- 50 mm acoustic-wool layer
- C75 light-steel framing
- 300–600 mm vertical spacing
- 600/800 mm horizontal setting-out
The TDS also illustrates proprietary clip installation and a suspended-ceiling build-up. Final fasteners, batten spacing, cavity depth, edge details, and infill density must follow the substrate condition, engineering requirements, fire strategy, and approved project drawings.
